Anothers Display: A Modern Serif Font for Bold Branding

There’s something oddly satisfying about opening a blank brand board and knowing that every decision you make will shape the visual soul of a project. Recently, I found myself in that exact moment—tasked with creating a cohesive identity for a boutique skincare line. The first thing I needed was a font that could carry the weight of elegance without feeling outdated. That’s when I stumbled upon Anothers Display, a modern serif font with a twist.

A Font with Personality

Anothers Display isn’t just another serif font—it’s a statement. It carries the refined grace of traditional serifs but adds a contemporary flair through its beautiful curves and precise construction. The alternates and ligatures included in the font add a level of sophistication that feels almost handcrafted, making it ideal for moments where your design needs to stand out.

The curves are smooth and deliberate, giving the typeface a softness that balances well with the structured elements of serif typography. This makes it a versatile choice for both print and digital media, whether you're designing a logo, a product label, or a social media post.

Testing in Real Projects

I tested Anothers Display across several branding touchpoints. On a logo draft, it felt right at home—its bold presence gave the brand a sense of authority while the subtle curves added warmth. When I placed it on a packaging mockup, the font didn’t feel too heavy or overwhelming, which is a common issue with many display fonts.

On a business card, the font worked surprisingly well even in smaller sizes. The legibility stayed intact, and the details of the characters didn’t get lost. For a website header, I paired it with a clean sans-serif font, and the contrast made the site feel more dynamic and professional.

One of my favorite uses was on an Instagram post. The font’s decorative elements stood out against a minimalist background, drawing attention without being distracting. It added just enough personality to make the content feel fresh and engaging.

When to Use Anothers Display

Anothers Display shines as a display font, headline font, or accent font. It’s not meant for long paragraphs of body text due to its stylized nature, but it excels in short phrases, taglines, and logos. Its modern aesthetic fits well with creative industries like fashion, lifestyle, and food brands.

If you're working on a project that requires a unique voice—like a handmade shop, a bakery, or a creative studio—this font can help elevate your brand’s identity. However, for formal corporate use or projects requiring high readability in small sizes, it might not be the best fit.

Font Pairing and Practical Tips

Pairing Anothers Display with a complementary sans-serif font like Montserrat or Lato creates a balanced look. For a more artistic approach, combining it with a script font can add a touch of elegance, especially for invitations or editorial designs.

Before using this font in final client work, I recommend testing it in different contexts. Try it on a shop sign, a product label, or a homepage hero section. See how it behaves in various sizes and colors. Also, check the licensing terms to ensure it's appropriate for your intended use—whether that's for a website, print-on-demand products, or commercial templates.

Don’t forget to explore the included styles, alternates, and ligatures. These features allow for greater customization and can help you create more visually compelling designs.

A Thoughtful Addition to Your Toolkit

In the end, Anothers Display proved to be a valuable addition to my design toolkit. It brought a modern edge to the skincare brand’s identity without sacrificing professionalism. Whether you're working on a logo, packaging, or a social media graphic, this font has the potential to make your work stand out.

It’s not perfect for every situation, but when used thoughtfully, it can enhance the visual storytelling of your brand. As with any premium font, it’s worth investing time to understand its strengths and limitations before diving into client work.
